Day 1: Arrival Hanoi (D)
On arrival at Hanoi's NoiBai International airport, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to your hotel in town. Welcome dinner at a lovely restaurant in the Old French Quarter of Hanoi. In the evening enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B,L)
The colonial capital city Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental pagodas and temples. This full day tour takes you around Hanoi's most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and his Stilt House, Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda nearby, and the Old Quarter also known as the 36 streets and guilds. Also on the tour - the Lake of the Restored Sword and Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, peaceful West Lake with lovers street Thanh Nien, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple and one of the city's museums, either the History Museum or the Ethnology Museum.
Day 3: Hanoi-Halong Bay Junk Boat (B,L,D)
This morning we will depart Hanoi at 8:30 a.m. for a four-hour drive through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Upon arrival, we transfer to our boat for a cruise of the crystalline emerald waters of Halong Bay, giving us the chance to take in the stunning scenery of this UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site. While on board we will be served a sumptuous fresh, local seafood lunch followed by a swim. We will also have the chance to explore some of the limestone caves in this area.
8:30 a.m. We pick you up at your hotel lobby, and we will travel from Hanoi to Halong Bay.
12:30 p.m. Huong Hai junk boat cruise, welcome champagne drink
1:30 p.m. Seafood lunch on boat
1:30 p.m. Cruising around, visit to Thien Cung multiform stalactites & stalagmites, Wooden head cave, Tuanchau cave, dog island, Dinh huong island, Cach Buom island, rooster fighting island. Swimming on Titop beach or Hoa Cuong beach. Watching sunset. Fishing, rowing bamboo boat. Drinking wine and sleeping on Huong Hai junk.
Day 4: Halong Bay - Hanoi-Overnight train (B,L,)
7:30 a.m. Enjoy breakfast on board
8:30 a.m. Cruise around Bai Tu Long bay, passing by Bai Tho Mountain
11:00 a.m. Lunch
12:00 p.m. Sail back to harbor where our car will be waiting to transfer us back to Hanoi.
4:30 Arrival Hanoi
In the evening, you take an overnight train (TULICO) to Lao Cai train station, two hours from Sapa (from 9:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.)
Day 5 Sapa (B)
Arrive Lao Cai Railway Station at 6:30 a.m. Meet our driver and transfer to Sapa. It takes you 2 hours to reach there. You have breakfast at VICTORIA'S TAVAN RESTAURANT. Free time in the morning for you to stroll around town or enjoy the comforts of your hotel. At 2 p.m. Trek to Cat Cat village, home of black H'mong, and view a nearby waterfall. Stay in VICTORIA Hotel.
Day 6: Sapa (B&L)
Breakfast at hotel and you will have a full day to trek to Lao Chai and Ta Van valley, where the H'mong, Day and Red Dao people live. We have a picnic lunch en route. Visit the suspension bridge Cau May, the River and and Caving Stone Fields. Stay overnight in hotel.
Day 7: Sapa Train to Hanoi (B&L)
This morning we climb up to Ham Rong Mountain, which gives you a great panoramic view over Sapa and its surrounding areas, and you can explore two orchid gardens and other flowers gardens. After hotel check-out, we travel to Ta Phin valley, where the Red Dao and H'mong live. Drive back to Lao Cai Railway Station. Train TULICO leaves Lao Cai Railway station at 9:15 p.m. to Hanoi where you will arrive the following morning at 5 a.m..
Day 8: Departure Hanoi
You arrive Hanoi at 5 am. Transfer to airport for your onward flight.
